The Full Monty (YSM 2009)
25-28th Nov 2009, Grand Opera House YORKIn these tough times how far would you go? Six men with nothing to lose...except their pants.
York Stage Musicals return with their stunning UK Premiere production of THE FULL MONTY. Don’t miss this fantastic show adapted from the award-winning film starring Mark Addy & Robert Carlisle. Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) and directed by Peter Cattaneo.
The Full Monty is a lively and poignant story of six unemployed, out of shape steel mill workers from Buffalo, New York, who need to pick up some extra cash.
After seeing the popularity of a male stripper among the local women, Jerry Lukowski recruits his own troupe to put on a strip show of their own. Their gimmick is simple, they will go the Full Monty. Something they hadn’t planned and are not sure they can deliver. Will they? Won’t they? All will be revealed, well maybe…
"It’s a fantastic show, with a superb score by David Yazbek and a rock-solid book by Terrence McNally which keeps everything necessary from the film and brilliantly re-invents the rest. IT’S THE FULL MONTY ALRIGHT!" Metro
